The Kensington Sierra Madre

My wife and I recently celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a reception for family and friends at The Kensington Sierra Madre. The staff worked closely with our family to make sure the event went off just as planned. Our guests were impressed with the caring staff and the lovely grounds and facilities. We are so grateful to The Kensington for helping to make our 50th Anniversary Celebration such a lovely memory.

Martha Reyes My wife Nancy moved into The Kensington on February 18, 2026. The Lobby reception of 10 or more staff members was truly a great start to Nanc’s new home adventure. There is where I met Martha Reyes. Martha reached out to introduce herself and let me know that she would be personally looking after Nancy. I visit The Kensington each day at breakfast, lunch and dinner to help feed Nancy and get a better understanding of what days are like there. To say the least, I continue to be impressed at the amazing level of care that Nancy and all the residents’ experience. Of all the care-givers, Martha stands out not only with her level of dedication to all the resident but especially how she nurtures and comforts Nancy through these new tough times. Thank you Martha for being there and for the loving care you give Nancy each day. You now have a special place in my heart. Always Dennis

Watching a parent age is truly an eye-opening experience, and one that can leave a child often feeling helpless to provide the safety and support needed for them. Over about a 2-year period, my siblings and I watched this continue to unfold with our 95-year-old mother and agreed that it was past time to move her from our home into a memory care facility where she would receive 24/7 care. We toured several facilities that were close, since familiarity and the ability to continue with the limited, outside social activities she was still actively involved with was going to be the key to a “successful” transition. The Kensington Sierra Madre, checked all these boxes and so much that we didn’t even know to consider. It has been three weeks since Mom and Gus (her sassy cat) moved into their suite in the Connections neighborhood and while there have been some not unexpected “bumps” they have been very minor and in large part to the attention and care that Martha has given Mom. My siblings and I first met Martha at lunch the day we moved Mom in and it was immediately apparent from watching her interact with Mom that she is very skilled at connecting with memory impaired patients who need that special level of care and comfort she and the rest of the nursing staff at the Kensington provide, not only to their residents, but their family members as well. Throughout her shifts, Martha sends pictures of Mom and to streamline sharing these, we even started a “Martha and Jan’s Kids” (there are 5 of us) text string. We are so thankful that Martha and The Kensington are now Mom’s (and our) “family” too!

Our mother recently became a Kensington Sierra Madre resident. Martha Reyes has been a wonderful caregiver for her, and a very supportive presence in our mom's life during this transition for her. Martha frequently texts photos of our mom's daily activities at the The Kensington to my siblings and me, so we can see with our own eyes what our mom is doing there each day . That's very reassuring for all of us. I highly recommend The Kensington.

I wanted to extend a huge thank you to The Kensington in Sierra Madre, CA for the unbelievable care they are providing our mother, who recently moved in. The facility is first class, the staff is the best in the business, and the love they provide to our mother on a daily basis is unending. A special shout-out to Martha Reyes, who has provided countless hours of love and care to our mother since she moved in. Thank you, Martha!! And thank you to everyone at The Kensington for taking such great care of our mom!
