We found independent living at Chai Point attractive because it is a straight monthly rental, no buy-in, no monthly meal plan or minimum, only a modest one time nonrefundable community fee, and it allows a couple to remain in their independent living unit when one or both need some of the available assisted living services. Varied religious and social activities are available to the extent we desire. The residents and staff are friendly, welcoming and supportive. And the location, views, cleanliness and ample dining choices are excellent.

The best decision my mother made was to move into Chai Point over 9 years ago. Chai means life and Chai Point has truly been the best place for her to have lived a full and happy life during the last nine years and G-d willing for several more. Even during the COVID years my mother thrived with the Kehilah, or community, of other residents. I visit my mother almost daily and when I visit, I feel I am not only visiting her but all the residents. When my mother first moved, almost three years after my father died, I suggested that she keep her condo and try it out for three months like she was going on a cruise - since Chai Point seemed like a cruise ship where you have your room with (in her case) a gorgeous view of the water and shoreline of Lake Michigan and like on a cruise ship, you leave your room for numerous activities and meals. After a short period we realized that Chai Point was much better than her being isolated in her condo (as she had stopped driving) and we made it a permanent move and sold her condo. Nine years later almost daily she says how much she loves living at Chai Point and how wonderful the people who love and work there are. She has had two amazing private aids with her 24/7 since she had a bad fall 7 years ago, so even in her late 90s she attends almost all the concerts and programs and services. The two Rabbis at Chai Point - Rabbi Emmer and Adams have enhanced her spirituality (and mine!) when I join her at services, Shabbat Shirah, Kabbalah Shabbat, and Torah discussions. Jessica, Calvin and especially Elizabeth (who has worked in activities for years make attending weekly bingo and rummikub games and the numerous programs fun snd make a point of developing a relationship with each resident. Last but not least, I am very grateful for the nursing staff including head nurse, Myrna, and the head of nursing, Cheryl, who have helped my mom and me navigate through the health bumps in life. The newest social worker Gedalliah has been phenomenal, working to enhance everyone’s experience. It was brilliant to hire him after he had worked assisting Rabbi Emmer for the years he was studying and already knew the residents. Josh, the director, has really impressed me as he spends a lot of time with the residents and I have seen him literally roll up his sleeves to help serve at a Shabbat Kiddish when he chose to spend his day off at Chai Point. He is always available to discuss issues and is working to improve the facility - as is Mike, the new President of Ovation. I love the new State of the art movie theater as does my mother. It is great that as my mother’s mobility becomes more challenged she can remain in the building to get her hair done and see Dr Mateo - who is as kind as he is knowledgeable with my mother and his other patients. At Ovation there is senior independent living and assisted living at Chai Point, memory care at Kavod Terrace and a full nursing home at the Milwaukee Jewish Home all under one roof. When my mother had a bad fall and needed rehab several years ago I was grateful that she could do her rehab in the same building and still remain part of the Chai Point community so there was an easy transition to move back to her apartment. I am also grateful to Josh and Cheryl for helping me navigate through the continuum of care and choose the best services offered for my mother as she needs them. Is Chai Point perfect every day? No, but no place you live is perfect and I truly believe it is the best senior living available in Milwaukee if you want to live in a true Kehillah.

Simply a gem in Milwaukee! We moved my 92 year old dad to Chai Point here a year ago, his previous residential community was very small and isolating. Ovation is amazing, from the incredible lake side location, onsite medical, attentive and caring staff, exceptional full menu dining options, indoor pool and of course the amazing residents. My dad quickly came out of his shell, he now plays bridge twice a week, goes to play bingo and attends concerts and activities. And he actually likes the food! It’s also waaaay more affordable than I ever imagined. And the views, wow!

Heartfelt Gratitude to Ovation Jewish Home Rehab I need to express my deep gratitude to Ovation Jewish Home Rehab for the exceptional care provided to my mom after her unfortunate fall. The journey to her recovery was not just about the excellent physical therapy she received; it was profoundly impacted by the genuine, heartfelt dedication of the entire staff. The difference is clear when care is provided with sincerity, and at Ovation, that sincerity shines brightly. The team there, including the therapists, nurses, and notably the case worker, demonstrated an authentic concern and commitment to my mom's well-being. They approached their responsibilities with an extraordinary level of compassion and patience, ensuring that every aspect of her care was done with personal care. Their efforts were instrumental in my mom's positive outlook. She is still able to stay at her own apartment. Thank you again, Andrew
