My loved one was a resident in the assisted living part of Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit for 5 years before she passed. Before she moved in she was living alone in a 2-story condominium. I remember the physical therapist who was working with her in those days told me it is not a matter of if she falls down the stairs, it more of a matter of when she falls down the stairs. Moving her into the assisted living facility was a blessing to both her and I. What transpired over that 5 year period was amazing. For the first time in as long as I can remember, she was engaged in a community and her over all metal and physical health improved tremendously. Other residents became good friends and the staff became like family. Over the course of the last year I spent a great deal of time with her and I saw firsthand how the staff treated her with respect and dignity. Because of her health issues she was very sensitive about her dignity and the staff recognized this and was very respectful. A few years ago she suffered from a stroke and one of the caregivers, visiting her room in the morning to administer meds, notice something was wrong, recognized her symptoms and they called EMS. The hospital was able to administer stroke medication in a timely matter and she recovered fully. It was the expertise of the caregiver that saved her life. I can’t say enough good things about the facility, I always felt my loved one was in a safe place and under excellent care. Looking back I feel completely blessed to have had her in this place. *** Previous Review *** My loved one is a current Assisted Living resident at Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit. The facility just recently changed management and the improvements are starting to show. They took a good look at the areas for improvements and are actively working on updating systems, improving the menu options and more. I have always felt the Assisted Living facility was top-notch but now that I’m able to visit in person again after a year of absence due to Covid, I’m impressed at how she was treated during my absence. The staff is friendly, hardworking and feel like family, they truly enjoy helping people and it shows. The true litmus test was during the pandemic, there were no major outbreaks and the management team keep us well informed on a weekly basis. I always felt my loved one was safe, that was such a comforting feeling. I would highly recommend the facility. My loved one is in the Assisted Living facility and I can’t begin to express how impressed I have been with Brookdale at Spicewood Springs, Senior Living Facility. The biggest test a senior living facilities has had is during the Covid-19 pandemic and Brookdale at Spicewood Springs has stepped up to the challenge and has executed flawlessly. From the very beginning, very early on, they took the situation seriously and put all the precautions in place to keep the residence safe and healthy. They took the advice from the experts, locked things down quickly and effectively, screened their staff and screened residence when needed. The staff pays attention to every detail, from cleaning and meal preparation to nurse visits. And something that is often over looked in these situations is the activities director has done an amazing job keeping the spirits of the residence and staff at an incredible high and positive level. I could not be more thankful and blessed knowing my loved one is in such a well-run and managed facility. I would strongly recommend Brookdale at Spicewood Springs to anyone looking for an Assisted Living facility.

The Juniper Village management and entire staff of nurses and caregivers did a wonderful job helping my cousin who was fighting cancer. It was a difficult time for us and Juniper Village was there for us day and night. My family and I recommend their care and attention as being very good and often times above and beyond the call of duty. We appreciate each staff member that provided a caring word and touch for my cousin. Thanks to each of you! Larry

My mom went to juniper village after a stay in the hospital. We got there late in the day and they got mom settled in nicely. The staff and facility were wonderful. Mom had a bad night and early in the morning she made the decision that she wanted to go home. As soon as I informed the staff they switched directions and helped me and mom with the transition. Hospice staff came and talked with mom and I and got us home and all set. The staff at juniper village were exceptional. From helping mom get comfortable to helping me get my food deliveries. In addition to mom not feeling well I had been through a week and a half with her in the hospital so I was a mess as well. They were very caring to both of us. I would recommend this facility and their outstanding staff for your rehab needs.
