I deeply regret the decision to move my mom to Independence Hill Assisted Living, as she tragically passed away just one month after her admission. Despite repeated calls to the Director, my mom did not receive her low blood pressure medication for over a month. The head nurse admitted last year that the facility was "overwhelmed and understaffed," yet this critical issue was never addressed. My mom’s death was a result of not receiving the necessary medication. She suffered a massive brain hemorrhage, which could have been prevented with proper care. The lack of accountability across the staff, including the Director, is deeply concerning. Instead of taking responsibility, they continue to blame each other or outsourced services for their negligence. I strongly caution anyone considering this facility for their loved ones. If your loved one is already here, I highly recommend moving them or, at the very least, installing cameras to monitor the care they are receiving. This facility failed to meet even basic standards of care, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the pain our family experienced.

Independence is a well maintained place. Everyone I’ve dealt with is kind, caring, and extremely helpful. All of the residence I’ve communicated with show joy and happiness. I’m proud to be a part of this great place keeping people comfortable, safe, and happy. 👍:-)

My mother-in-law is 93 and moved into Independence Hill on August 30th of this year. We are so impressed with the staff and their communication from Day 1. When we could not open a Spectrum account, they stepped up and included her in their account so she could access cable programs until we could work things out. This only took us a couple of days but they were there for us and we really appreciated it. Independence Hill is NOT a sign me up and forget about me place. All members of the staff and office staff continue to stop in and check in on my mother-in-law and communicate with us. This is very important and we couldn’t be happier! My mother-in-law tells us everyday how she is making new friends at her meals which by the way, she is enjoying the dining experience too. We want to thank you all for taking such good care of our mom. She is in good hands at Independence Hill and looking forward to all the fun activities you offer. Thank you.

My father has lived at Independence Hill for 7+ years and really likes it there. He enjoys playing bridge and the fun activities offered. The staff there are top notch. My father has recently mentioned, however, that the food quality has declined. He does not like that you can only subscribe to Spectrum for TV, internet and phone, no other service is allowed - he has had numerous problems with Spectrum overcharging him for movies and channels he added, without even realizing it because he was scrolling through the stations. It's a great place to live and gives me comfort knowing he has great friends and can continue to live independently in such a fun environment.

We moved my parents to Independence Hill about 18 months ago. I'm very happy to say they are extremely happy there, largely as a result of the remarkable group of people who work there. From housekeepers, maintenance, dining room and food service, health care, office, front desk and activities, the staff is absolutely wonderful. Each person there goes out of their way to make residents feel welcome, included, and important. Residents are celebrated at every opportunity. There are activities going on all the time that encourage folks to stay active and engaged, showcasing many interests and talents both at Independence Hill and in the larger community. Having my parents living here, happy, safe and active, has been a tremendous blessing for both my parents and our family.
