Hi, my name is Darin and I live here in Eventide Heartland in Devils Lake. I have to say, it's a really nice place to live. The staff is nice, the nurses are nice and knowledgeable too. The rooms are nice and big. I brought my own TV otherwise they supply you with a 32 inch TV. They also have free wifi so if you have a Roku, Firestick, or a TV with streaming channels you can watch Netflix or any other streaming channels. I also bought a remote control fan, otherwise some days it gets warm in here. It also gets kinda cold in here when it's 20 below. The food is OK, some meals are good, some so so, that goes with any long term living facility. I have a lot of health problems and they've been great taking care of me. Sending me to the hospital when I need it. I've been transferred to Altru in Grand Forks and bunch of times and they came and got me when the time came to be released. I've also had some appointments in Grand Forks and they've been great taking me to them. I have no real complaints except when I moved in they kinda messed up how they were handling my diabetes, but after discussing it with my doctor they finally got it straightened out. And when I moved in they said if I did physical Therapy staying here would be free, which it wasn't so I got a large back bill to pay, they charged me $5,000 dollars, which I'm still paying on. Other than those few things it's been a really good place to live. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a long term nursing home facility

WORST facility I've ever been to. My family member was a patient last year and was treated poorly by staff, left without water for over 24hrs several times, left to sit in her own waste when she was unable to go without assistance. She was harassed and stalked by several male patients, staff didn't care enough to intervene. She was verbally abused and threatened by staff, and witnessed verbal abuse and threats to other patients. They're always extremely short staffed, so the staff members who DO care are so burned out and overwhelmed that they physically can't keep up with all their patients.

I would like to say I have my great grandmother at Eventide and she seems to enjoy her time there. She loves the activities she to participate in. My family can visit her anytime, the staff I talk to are helpful to me. Thank you Eventide

My grandmother has been living here for years, hasn't complained of much, loves when the nurses and staff joke with her, even with covid the staff where able to keep her and other residents safe...

My sister-in-law was left in bed until 10:45 AM. She had turned on her light to ask for bathroom assistance because she is unable to transfer from her bed to her wheelchair. When someone finally came, she was crying, sitting in her own urine and fecal matter. She had not been brought to the dining room for breakfast. She told us about it the following day and we were given an apology. We are concerned for future.
