HARBOR TERRACE RETIREMENT CENTER OF SAN PEDRO, LLC

My mother resided at Harbor Terrace for over 12 years. I cannot say enough about Harbor Terrace and their staff. Highly recommended.

I visited as a GUEST 3 times now and have NOT been greeted warmly or asked to return or had my friend (who resides there) complimented/acknowledged to me when I sign in the book at the desk when I arrive for a visit. I expect "Welcome. It's good to have you. Your friend will be so excited to see you. It's been wonderful having him here....." But nothing. As soon as I entered my friends room a Female worker come to his door knocked she asked if he wanted to join this event, he explained no he was visiting with me. Not 3 mins went by a knock again!! Same lady with someone else again said hey there this even he AGAIN said he knew and declined. They pushed again for his presence. I finally was reluctant and told him, sweetie you go. I'll come back. He said he didn't want to. They keep interrupting and he was uncomfortable saying NO. I ended up leaving that day 5 minutes after I arrived!!Other times while I was there, I waited for my friend in lobby where I love to visit and talk, sing, smile, pick up fallen letter tiles, and move objects when a need arises for any sweet resident. Completely ignored by staff, even heard a female staff tell one resident I was the "girlfriend" of -----------. Which was NOT true and inappropriate!! Wow. If STAFF can mistreat, lie about, intimidate, and are rude to guests, how are loved ones treated when we're not there??

When my dad passed a few years back, Harbor Terrace was the only community my mom even considered. Everyone was so welcoming and caring, from Danee, Laura, Adam, Priscilla, all the staff. As my mom's dementia progressed, Rosie and Marta cheerfully helped her with her personal needs and always made sure she looked her best. They always ensured she was active and involved. Mom recently passed and I am so grateful she was a part of the Harbor Terrace family these last few years. Thank you so much!

Finding a retirement community that would treat my mom like family seemed an impossible task until we found Harbor Terrace. From our very first interaction with Danee, it was clear that the staff here go above and beyond to provide exceptional care for the residents. My mom has now been living at Harbor Terrace for four months and is thriving. She loves the activities and all the new friends that she has made!
