I cannot say enough on how this place is amazing! My mother recently moved here. The staff has gone above and beyond with getting her settled and straightened out from a not so great facility that she came from. The staff is beyond helpful and really made her feel at home! I feel like we worked as a team to get her settled in. I highly recommend Greystone!

Early this year my dearest close friend and neighbor with dementia was admitted on St. Patrick Day. I dropped her off that morning from the hospital. She was there for few hours. She walked out the front door that afternoon. It was the last time I saw her. She was missing for 1 and half months. On May 4, 2022 she was found dead in the CT river. Greystone isn't a secure building. No video cameras on the property. I wouldn't recommend any one with dementia to live here.

Response from the owner

As a facility our hearts are heavy for those who lost their loved one. What we would like for people to know is that our Resident was cleared to come to Greystone and to live at this level of care by her Doctor, her Nurse, and her Social Worker. We are an Independent Living Facility where residents can come and go as they please, and those rights are strictly protected by the State of Connecticut. Our Resident was fully lucid and capable of making her own decisions. She chose to come to Greystone. It is unfortunate that her apartment was condemned, and she was no longer allowed to live there due to the conditions she kept. It is true that she enjoyed our lovely St. Patrick’s Day Feast, took a nap, and then chose to leave Greystone that day. Our staff was fully aware of her. She was clear and lucid in her thinking. We have an excellent staff who maintain secure surroundings. We would never nor could we ever have a Resident live here who is a wander risk. Our resident purely left on her own accord and lived on her own for two months before she passed. We are very sorry for your loss.

I attended the open house today and was blown away by how gorgeous the facility and grounds are. This is definitely a place I would choose. Also friendly and welcoming staff.
