My grandpa has been living here for a couple of years and I can say I am very happy I picked this place over others. it’s like a huge family. they are great on keeping me in the loop of things and taking great care of my grandpas needs. staff is great, friendly and they have a great administrator very knowledgeable. With work and life being so busy this place has given me the confidence that even if I can’t check up on my grandpa daily I know he's ok and in great hands.

I agree with others, if I could give no stars, I would. Went to visit a family member today. Absolutely nobody manning the reception desk. We found a button on the wall, thought it was a call button and pushed it 3 separate times, but nobody came. Finally called the facility. Pushed 1 for reception thinking maybe the person had to step away for a minute, but of course it went straight to voicemail. Hung up, called back and hit 2 for a staff member. Told the person we were there to visit but nobody at the front to let us in. She said we had to pull...Pull what, the button??? She said the door, I said it's locked. Finally somebody came to the door and pushed it open for us. That's when we learned push button on wall, then open door. There is no audible click or buzzer, like doors in other facilities, to let us know the door was unlocked and that's what the button was for. When I simply suggested they put up a sign so people know how to get in. The lady was very nasty and said "Well, it's not that hard." I told her it is if it's your first time here and you don't know how to get in. She said "Well, I didn't know" I told her "I know, that's why I suggest the sign." She said "well, it's not that hard to figure out, you don't have to have an attitude." I didn't have one until she made that comment. Extremely nasty employees and Extremely unprofessional attitudes. If they treat us in such a way, I can only imagine how the residents are treated. Utterly unacceptable!!! That employee who was so nasty should be fired or at the very least reprimanded. Why would you act in such a way to visitor? Once inside the facility you are hit with this undeniable pungent smell of feces and urine. I expect places such as these to have certain smells. I have been in many of them before that smell of medications and some have had a slight smell of urine. However, this place was unbearable; it smelled more like a dog kennel than an assisted living facility. It is so sad that the employees of this place are obviously only there for a paycheck. They have no passion or pride in their job. The way we were treated is absolutely unacceptable. We found our loved one sitting outside with about 20 other residents. When we told them how we were treated, they ALL told us to report them. I don't care how many people give 5 star reviews (funny that those people left no comments) it's the opinion of the residents that count the most. Ask any resident at any time how they like living at Grandview Assisted Living and they will tell you they hate it. Ask them how they feel about the care they receive and they will ALL tell you they are treated very poorly and left with little to no dignity. Many of the residents are of sound mind. The state needs to investigate this facility and question the residents about the so-called care they receive. This facility should never have been licensed by the state. I will definitely be reporting them. It's ridiculous that they feel poor care and poor treatment of our loved ones is acceptable simply because they have a low income. They are not animals and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I guarantee you those employees would not even put one of their loved ones in that place. Lastly, This is an extremely unsecure facility. There is absolutely nobody who sits at the reception desk, one of the workers even admitted to that. Anybody who knows how to unlock the door can just walk right in and wander around the building as they please. We were not asked who we were there for nor did they ask for ID's. We had to tell them who we wanted to see and instead of somebody walking us to his room they just gave us the room number and said if he's not there he is probably outside. So we were left to wander around the building, looking for our loved one. For anybody who can afford a better place, please, please, please do your loved one a favor and do not put them in this facility. Many of the residents are depressed and are on waiting lists for better facilities.
