My mother has been in memory care for a little over a month. When we toured the facility, we were impressed with how friendly the staff was, how happy the residents looked, and how clean it was. They have plenty of activities that my mom enjoys. She especially loves the entertainment during happy hour every Friday. They treat my mom with kindness and respect. She is safe and happy there.

I need to start by saying the staff is very caring. Unfortunately, the way it is managed day to day is, at best, subpar. If you are utilizing this facility for rehab, you will need to monitor and micromanage everything, especially your loved one's health care status during their stay. The only way I can describe it is that A doesn't know what B is doing, and C either doesn't care, isn't able, or isn't capable. Maybe scheduling an appointment with your loved one's primary care physician is a good idea to ensure an easily fixed health issue doesn't snowball and halt the rehab. Glen Oaks, please do not respond with a generic "We are sorry, please let us know....." I tried several times! You've got my number. If you really want to do better, you are more than welcome to call ME. It is unfortunate that my 91-year-old mother has to start at the beginning of her rehab for the 3rd time because of a recurring, unnecessary, prolonged, easily diagnosable infection.
