Wonderful and caring place! My uncle lived at the Garden for 2.5 years until he passed away in August 2022. We could not have asked for a better staff or facility to have taken care of him. He was moved in during the Covid 19 pandemic and they were so helpful. They communicated well with us about the restrictions and did an exceptional job keeping the residents safe. The staff was great with him and our family. He enjoyed all the workers and bonded well with them. The facility is also very nice and modern, and he enjoyed his private apartment while also getting to go out and have dinner with his "neighbors" and play bingo and games. If we were concerned, or he wasn’t answering his phone, we could call at any time and they would know exactly who he was and go check on him immediately. He enjoyed that the facility was Christian based and the church services helped keep his faith strong. Because of the great caring staff at the gardens, and hospice care, my uncle was able to stay where he was happy and comfortable till the end. Our family will forever be grateful to the Gardens and would highly recommend them.

The Nurse Manager was on a local radio station this morning talking about how she would rather support AMAZON vs small LOCAL shops because she has the option to ‘shop around for prices’. Another one of her points.... she’s easier able to send family in California a gift via Amazon with little to no shipping costs. She must not realize California also has small businesses suffering and they would really appreciate the purchase of a gift card. She also noted how well big box stores are going to do this holiday season. She doesn’t deserve ANY business in my opinion considering all her residents lived their whole lives in Hartford building it to what it is today. Sad. Very disappointed. Communities right now need to be helping each other. Please consider other nursing facilities for your family member... that understands the value of community.

Ashley, we understand your point and apologize. Our nurse was responding to questions about how seniors can stay safe and feel connected while many are isolated in their homes. Her train of thought during the interview was their safety. All she's been thinking about this year, day and night, is the welfare of senior citizens. When she read your comments, she felt awful about this misunderstanding because she does love our local businesses and loved taking residents on outings to local establishments in Hartford before all this happened. She asks that you not let her oversight in this one interview reflect poorly on The Gardens of Hartford staff who have been so dedicated to the health and safety of seniors this year. This pandemic has been difficult for all. We pray the difficulties for all of us will be over soon. Blessings to you and yours.

My grandmother has been living at The Gardens for a couple years now and we are so thankful she can call this place home. Her apartment is spacious and the surrounding area is very nice. Plus, there's a wonderful event space for our family to all meet together. Highly recommend!
