Gables is a small 15 bed assisted, locked memory care facility. Families can be sure their loved ones are safe. All the rooms have private showers. Laundry & meals are included. The Director, Kaly worked well with me to make sure my husbands needs were addressed. Karla Smith, the RN was the go to person for my husbands medical needs until he was put on Hospice. Jamie Perry, the activity & backup director kept the mood jovial. Michelle kept my husbands meds in order. They truly helped me get thru almost 4 years he resided before his death. When his "issues" weren't addressed I reminded them. They were respectful of what I requested.

Not recommended for Memory care and probably not for assisted living unless something has changed recently. (Suggesting that you visit often to make sure there is care and good procedures specifically helping your loved one.) My grandparent was there. Food was placed in his room and then picked up, as if it didnt matter whether he had eaten or not, and without a report to family that it was happening until we witnessed food leave repeatedly, with no concern that it was untouched. It seemed like staff wasn't interested in assisting or caring for the residents. Understanding that they have protocol to follow, I would suggest that there was an oversight/corporate problem, including understaffing. No scheduled activities except the TV running. Specific items we brought to his room, like clothing items or towels going missing. He ended up with others' laundry getting mixed up as well. Again, the biggest concern was that he wasn't being fed, and he didn't even have drinking water in the room. The monthly fee spiked during his stay, (a corporate decision, from what I understand) while lack of "care" persisted. The people with the most heart left, which is such a shame if they were understaffed or if there were other problems. This location has so much potential to really serve its residents and live up to the expectation they established and promote.
