Fox Run at Orchard Park

My parents spent their final years at Fox Run. My mother was in Memory Care for over 2 years. I live in Texas, so my visits were spread out. One time when I went to see her, I walked out to the patio where she loved sitting, and an aide was with her, holding her hand. At that moment, I knew she was in a place where people really cared for her. After she passed, several of the aides came to her service. One, Arlene, came by my Dad's patio home and brought him this picture she had taken from one of my Dad's regular visits to my Mom. I was worried about how my Dad would handle life without Mom. The residents and staff at Fox Run were so supportive. He became involved in the physical fitness programs. He played bocce, pickleball, and attended exercise classes. He also joined a prayer group and Bible study group. Through these activities, he formed close friendships. He regularly met friends for dinner. He loved living there. He became sick several months ago, and we had to move him to Skilled Nursing. I was with him for his final 4 weeks of life. The care he received while in Skilled Nursing was amazing. I could reach out and ask anybody anything at any time of the day or night. The nursing director even gave me her personal number, which I used frequently. She was so kind and patient. One night my dad kept trying to get out of bed. I was exhausted and wanted to return to his home to rest, but I was afraid to leave him. Two of the aides were in the room with me. They chatted privately, then came to tell me they had worked out a way to cover all their patients that evening while keeping a constant eye on my Dad, allowing me to get some sleep. I hugged her and started to cry. Yes, the facility is amazing. But, it's the PEOPLE that make Fox Run such a special place. I am forever grateful for the kind care they gave my parents.

I’ve lived here since May of 2022 and am very thankful to be here. I know that from now to the end of my life I’ll be taken care of by a caring organization and community.
