I would not recommend someone moving into eskaton in the privately owned homes or cottages if they can potentially need medical monitoring. Eskaton claims to provide each resident a pendant that can summon emergency services. And that's true. However, eskaton will not call the emergency contact when the pendant is activated. The other day my mother fell and couldn't get up and she used her pendant to get assistance but I was never notified. If she had had a more serious medical issue I would have never known and I would have never known even where she went. Eskaton management won't return my calls and also won't do anything to ensure that emergency contacts are notified in an emergency. Also there is no Knox box program. They claim to have one but it's actually done through volunteers and in my mother's case the firefighters had to bust the door down because the keys didn't work. So everything that eskaton claims to sell they do not provide.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re very sorry to hear about your mother’s recent experience, and we understand how stressful this situation must have been for you. The safety of our residents and clear communication with families are extremely important to us. We would appreciate the chance to speak with you directly so we can review what happened, clarify pendant and emergency-notification procedures, and address your concerns about the Knox Box access. Your feedback is important and we are committed to resolving this matter promptly. Please contact our Executive Director (Melisa.Tiburcio@eskaton.org) at your earliest convenience so we can work together to improve your experience and support your mother’s continued safety and comfort. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
