Not an issue with courtesy or competence of staff. But the company has done a poor job of maintaining the building, grounds and even the potholes in the road. There haven’t been any upgrades to the building, rooms, property for years. The food is substandard for what residents pay. Residents in assisted living have limited food options, availability of condiments or extra on their floor. It is really discouraging to hear and see about the situation with the food when all they want is a good tasting meal.

The building itself is a very confusing series of hallways and elevators that only go to certain floors. All floors begin with the number 2 as well, lending to more confusion. There is something off about the ventilation in the apartments. Always boiling or freezing within a few degrees of each other on the thermostat. Front desk doesn't answer half the time. The half they do, the kitchen won't answer. There is no direct way to call the kitchen to order meals and they do not check the voicemail that allows you to leave messages so you have to call back until you get an answer. The food arrives later than expected and often has substitutions. Breakfast is normally very well done and tasty; dinner is often bland or just strange. The housekeeper comes every other week and is decent and very friendly but they do not move things so they will wipe around whatever has been left out. The toilet runs all the time which was not fixed even though I've called maintenance about it as they said "it's not leaking" which is not what I reported. Two lights are flickering in the living room so we've either got ghosts, bad wiring, or need to make another twelve calls to the front desk in order to put in a work request. The place looks very nice from the outside and is impressive to tour, as they skip the hallways with drywall peeling. The inner workings of the establishment could use an entire overhaul. The prices they charge people to live here is criminal.

Mixed bag. We were attempting to locate an individual to this facility. The individual required greater care than what normally would be provided and the resident was willing to pay for that additional service. We had agreed to a move in date and the people at the rehab hospital where this person was being discharged from were set to transfer. The transfer was to occur on a Monday. But on the Friday afternoon before the Monday admission we received a text message from Ellison that they would not be able to accommodate. This required scrambling for another facility and an extension of his stay in rehab. Note: We had arranged to drop off all paperwork that friday morning and we were texted with the message that they would connect with us later that day. I texted: is there a problem..no response. Receiving an unprofessional text message, ignoring our phone call, was completely unacceptable. The facility is very nice. The people working at the facility are very nice. When I saw residents in their dining room they seemed very content and the food looked pretty good. The apartments were appropriate for the service needed. This type of last minute shift demanded a phone call and a conversation which did not occur. They did not answer our phone calls and chose to use a text, which demonstrates a lack of professionalism Again, loved the facility....appreciated their willingness to accommodate but they get zero stars for their professional cowardice in having a conversation about denying admission at the last minute.
