My wife was in the care of the staff at Del Monte Village for 8 months. During that time I visited her twice daily, I was able to see first hand the care she received. I cannot say enough good things about the care she received. The staff here are truly angels. They treated my wife with such compassion, dignity, and respect, not just as a patient, but as a person. She and I were adopted into the wider community of the Village. The level of care was consistently excellent, and it was clear that every team member genuinely cared about her wellbeing. The food was varied and delicious, always made on the premises. Dessert ranged from cookie, ice cream, pudding to Tiramisu. To the entire team: thank you for everything you did for my wife and our family. You made her last days comfortable, easing her transition to a new reality. My family and I are forever grateful.

A caring and peaceful place for my brother My brother has been living at this assisted living facility for about four years now, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he receives. He’s 74 and spends most of his time quietly sitting in his room, but the staff makes sure he’s clean, well-fed, and has his laundry done. They keep his space tidy and treat him with respect and incredible patience — especially during his more difficult moods or rough patches. I’ve seen them show him kindness time and time again. What I especially appreciate is the freedom and dignity they give him. He’s free to walk around the beautiful grounds, and there are multiple places for him to enjoy his meals depending on how he feels or what the weather is like. That flexibility really matters. The facility has had its challenges in the past — there was a lawsuit under the previous management — but things have turned around. One of the longtime staff members was promoted to manager, and she is wonderful: knowledgeable, calm, kind, and able to connect with my brother in a way I never could. With the new management, I’ve noticed a sense of peace and professionalism throughout the place. No drama, just quiet, consistent care. It’s also pretty amazing that a few residents are even allowed to have pets — a small but meaningful sign of how this place respects individual needs. I visit my brother once or twice a week and over the years have witnessed countless small, compassionate moments between the staff and the residents. This place has truly been a blessing for my brother — and for me.

It's time to express my gratitude for your good services and generosity. As you know I wouldn't be leaving if I didn't have too due to lack of funds . My experience has been nearly entirely positive , from the food which was always good sometimes even excellent, to the extra help with secretarial matters.I admire the work you do and so appreciate the staff . I appreciate as well the fact that any problem I've had it was immediately addressed. The humor and grace expressed overcame the irritation and impatience they must've felt. Their kindness was admirable. The grounds are always kept nice, things are always clean and tidy. Again, their patience is much appreciated. I'm afraid I won't find the great level of beneficiary that I've had here will be found in my new place, but I'm trusting. Thank you to all the staff for their good service. Thank you to jose & Erika, for their good food. They were always willing to accommodate my needs since i didn't eat meat. I highly recommend this facility. Victoria and Ashley are a Gods send. Thanks to Jo, Brian and juliana, To Kay, I'll never forget your generosity. For allowing me to stay on while I found an assisting living waiver program. Thank you for all you do.

We are so grateful to the staff at Del Monte assisted Living in Pacific Grove. Ashley Rider in Admin answered all of our questions patiently. She helped facilitate the insurance and Hospice. Although my mother was only there for just over 2 weeks the staff was caring and gentle from the beginning. They allowed the family to visit at all hours and we set up our table and had dinner with Mom every night. When we lost Mom, the staff was there immediately and knew exactly what to do and helped us get through. Their compassion meant a lot to us as we started grieving.

Bear with me as I provide a bit of history and context to tell our story. In the summer of 2017, I brought my mom from Louisiana to California because she could no longer live on her own. I researched local assisted living facilities and ultimately decided on one that was nationally-known thinking the corporate route would provide better care. I was very, very wrong. My mother’s nationally-known care givers were inconsistent from day to day and month to month. She did not know them. They said she was refusing their care and they could not force her to accept it. Soon, I was coming over after work every day to make sure she was out of bed, clean, and fed. The stress I carried during this time weighed heavily on me and my family. Yet, they still charged us for a level of care they did not provide. This nationally-known facility also provided me with a monthly invoice of itemized charges, such as charging us $7 for every meal delivered to her room. By Thanksgiving 2019, my mom had developed a bad UTI, fallen twice, and ended up in the hospital for 3 nights, followed by two weeks in a skilled nursing to recover and rehabilitate. At this point, I could no longer allow my mom to live in this facility where she received less than adequate physical care. We gave our 30 day notice and began looking for a smaller, local assisted living facility where my mom would know her caregivers and hopefully receive better health care. It was then that I found Del Monte Assisted Living and I am grateful to them every day for not only significantly changing my mom’s quality of life but also my own. At Del Monte, Sunny, the owner, had her room remodeled and painted it her favorite color right before she moved in. She also has a beautiful patio where she can tend to her flowers and watch the humming birds. My mom knows her caregivers and she lets them take care of her. There is very little staff turnover. They are the same caregivers both day and night. Humberto, her nighttime caregiver, always holds her hand. I even heard my mom tell him that she both appreciated and loved him. Also on occasion, James (the Chief HR Officer) has gone well out of his way to bring my mom her favorite, a McDonalds Big Mac and hot fudge sundae. Finances? I get one bill every month for the same amount and it’s all inclusive. It doesn’t matter how many meals my mom had in her room or how many trips she took to the doctor. Just recently, my mom’s level of care increased and she was moved into hospice status. How much more for the additional care, I asked? None. Anytime I have questions or concerns, I can text or email Julia (Chief Operating Officer), James, or Gloria and they are extremely responsive. Doesn’t matter what it is - one of them is always working and taking care of our loved ones. How is this possible? There is a family culture at Del Monte. There are sisters, brothers, and cousins who work there. I can attest that they genuinely love their jobs, their coworkers, and the residents they take care of. Heroes? Angels? I’d say all of the above. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, all you need to do is meet Sunny, Julia, James, and Gloria and you’ll see what I am talking about.
