My mother lived at Dahlonega Assisted Living. She was able to age in place and pass away in her beautiful room at the facilty surrounded by family, amazing staff, and her sweet cat that the facility allowed her to have. The Executive Director, Kathleen Pantaleo, does an amazing job as does the Care Coordinator, Rebecca Brown. Every staff member from custodial services to kitchen services to each care giver who worked with my mother day in and day out was kind, caring, and attentive. The facility is gorgeous and the environment is positive and peaceful. I cannot recommend them enough if you have a loved one in need of age in place Assisted Living or Memory Care.

My mother moved into DAL almost two years ago. It is a beautiful facility with landscaping and a wonderful location. The chef and his team do an amazing job. From preparing daily meals for the residents to hosting holiday meals for resident families, the food is always top notch. The ladies who work at the front desk are always polite and neatly dressed. But, each year there has been an increase, which is not a consistent increase because it varies from 2-5%. Prescription medications are outsourced to a pharmacy that packages their pills. (That's another expense.) Also, there seems to be a lot of turnover with employees, from the administrator and office personnel to the actual caregivers to who the residents get to know for only a short time and then they have someone new to learn. They seem very eager to medicate when more medication is not the answer. My advice to anyone looking to place a loved one in a facility is do your homework. Keep your loved ones Dr.'s, they know them and know what is best for them. Find out as much as you can about the people who run the facility. Is the head nurse a RN or LPN, and how long has the nurse worked with elderly people and does the office personnel have experience working in a facility like this. Do they know how to interact with people who are diagnosed with Alzheimer's or Dementia? I was pleased with this facility in the beginning of my mother's residency here but as I see all the changes going on I cannot say I am pleased any longer.

Friendly and compassionately staffed, beautifully landscaped assisted living shelter. They take the time to learn your needs and help you attain the care you need. The food prepared is nutritious and delicious, kinda like a resort.

I visit this facility twice a month and see nothing but smiles. The residents are always up and dressed ready for the next fun activity. I highly recommend this facility to our community. Just take a visit and you will see the love and compassion they all share.
