The Assisted Living Cottages at Woodland Terrace in Milledgeville is a great place to live, EXCEPT for the absolutely terrible food quality they purchase for the residents. We have discussed this issue at length with the management for as long as my loved one has lived there and no consistent changes have been made. They have suggested that we keep a log of the food we are unhappy with and when we present this information to them, they ask us to be patient but nothing changes. The food is so inferior that my loved one regularly dreads eating there. This has us considering that they are not receiving proper nutrition and sustenance. The cost of living there continues to go up, but the food quality continues to get worse. It breaks my heart that my loved one is being fed this low quality of food in their sunset years. The Cottages serves bottom tier food from a food company that has different “levels” of food quality. Some examples include spaghetti with only noodles and dry crumbled ground beef or maybe just enough sauce to minimally wet the noodle; a breakfast “meat” sandwich filled not with meat but with an alternative soy meat; a Chef Salad main entrée dish in which residents received in their individual bowl of salad more, less or none of the components that make up this type of salad. The owner of The Cottages at Woodland Terrace in Milledgeville, Double Edge Associates, is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. If you have the option to look into other assisted living communities, I would strongly suggest doing so. Please do your research and maybe even talk to some of the residents here about this issue. It is appalling what they are feeding the residents.

I returned to Milledgeville after being gone 34 years. I wanted to be near my son and his family and be present for my Grand daughter, Emily. I initially wanted to rent on the Lake, after downsizing from a large home, pool, and landscaped yard. When I first considered “The Cottages” it was meant to be temporary. My Grand daughter loved it from the start. ! “Oh Grandma stay here”. I moved in March of 2016, I’m delightfully still here. I just feel so content and peaceful here. I appreciate the freedom renting provides. Everything is managed by the “Cottages” staff. The staff are very accommodating and often go above and beyond. Nancy, Marlene, and Greg are all to be commended, they make it feel like “home”. I love the location, near all shopping, downtown, and Georgia College, where I audited a class last year. The landscaping is beautiful, I sit in my sunroom and watch the Hummingbirds or Cardinal as I have my morning coffee. I plan to stay here as long as I can. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting care free living. Gloria Hutto
