EDITED TO ADD: I ALREADY SPOKE TO YOU, CATHERINE! You promised to fix the billing mistakes and have not done so! This place is awful. Please run away! I have never ever left a review online, but after months of dealing with this company and their empty words, I feel like I have no other choice. My dad lived in independent living there for less than six months. The amount of staff turnover was extremely high, but worst of all, they cannot manage their billing. My dad was overcharged every month and they always said they would fix it and never did. We gave 30 days notice and vacated within 30 days, yet we just got a bill for June— two months after we’ve left. They give empty promises that they will fix things, but they never do. My name is Holly Barton. I grew up in Nelson County. My dad, Mr. Barton, taught high school in Nelson County for over 30 years. I live in the Belmont community and send my kids to Summit and Walker. I care about my community and I’m ashamed to have such a business in our community. To anyone local who I know who may consider working here or living here, please reconsider. This place is worse than awful and has no respect for anyone’s time. People here lack basic human decency. I will say that there are three “nice” people there. Aliah Hoq, Nicholas Schwenkter and Harriet. But it is the kind of nice where they always say they will take care of things and they don’t. This is because Harriet does the work of three people. Nicholas is inexperienced and also doing the job of others (he was the concierge on a Friday night). Aliah is well intentioned, but clearly doesn’t have the backing of her superiors or her superiors are just completely dysfunctional. There seems to be a culture of niceness to cover up incompetence. This leads me to lose respect for these people because it is disingenuous. You can only be understanding so many times.

The team here is amazing, and the facility feels like you are walking into a 5-Star Hotel. It is extremely welcoming from the moment you enter until the moment you leave. It is definitely high on my list of Senior Living Accommodations.

Response from the owner

Christopher, we are so happy that you've had a great experience in our community. If you have any questions or recommendations, we are always striving to improve our resident and family experience. We look forward to seeing you soon!
