Calyx Living of Fuquay-Varina

My mom has been here for two weeks and she and I could not be happier. The facilities are well-designed and beautiful. All the staff are good at what they do, go out of their way to help, and are as friendly as it gets - from caregivers, to activities leaders, to maintenance guy, to chef, to receptionist. My mom feels safe, well taken care of, valued, and happy. Joe Seftner has been a trusted advisor & friend to both of us throughout all our selection, admission, move-in, and settle-in times. Together everyone has helped us to turn a daunting situation into a thing of joy! I cannot thank you enough.

Making the decision to move my mom, from my childhood home and her home for over 60yrs was one of the most difficult decisions we’ve ever made. Eight months ago we came face to face with that decision, home just wasn’t safe anymore. We had toured a few communities in the area, that were nice but something was missing. We were headed home from a tour and saw the Open House sign outside of Calyx and decided what the heck, let’s stop and just take a quick look. We walked in and received the warmest greeting from the ladies that were at the front desk, Erin and Marie the Activities Director. What we thought would be a quick stop to gather information, turned into a full tour. We walked, we talked, met other residents in the community. It was warm, welcoming and beautiful! The feeling in the community was vibrant and alive, and that’s what we were missing. You can see and feel the love and compassion that the community and staff have for their residents. I probably asked a 100 questions while we were there, and Cassie was patient and amazing. She made sure I had her contact information because she was sure I would more questions (I did of course!). The move in process was easy, Cassie was right there to walk me through all the paperwork while Leon and Bryan help my husband move mom’s furniture. Eight months later mom is safe, happy, healthy and socially thriving in her new home. She has met new friends, attends exercise and art classes! We visit all the time, I occasionally attend the Saturday painting with Marcelino (awesome highly recommend!) and the family nights never disappoint! I cannot say enough about the Fuquay team, they are nothing short of amazing.

My family and I were driving around on a weekend, looking at assisted living communities when we came up upon Calyx. The outside and grounds were so beautiful that we decided to go inside. We didn't realize tours aren't usually scheduled on weekends and had no expectation of one, but the executive Director happened to be on site, welcomed us in, and offered a thoughtful walk-through. That leadership presence spoke volumes. Inside, the common areas were clean and lively; the team felt upbeat, joked, easily with one another, and seemed genuinely engaged with residence. We laugh, feeling both reassured and excited about what life here could look like for our family member.
