My mother lives here with advanced dementia. She is talking more than she has in three years. She is engaging in crafts and eating! While at home she was sleeping more than 20 hours a day and almost non responsive to family… now, she talks and smiles. Mrs Pat is beyond incredible with the residents! We love Ricky, Kamora, Erin, Peaches, and Ashley Williams. I have nothing but positive love and feelings for this place! At a hard time of life, Calyx has come in and offered help and support. I thank God we were able to get my mother here!!!

My mother loves her caregivers! They are kind and attentive. They watch her carefully so that I never worry about her when I'm not here. The nursing staff is especially vigilant and responsive. The director and the business manager are always available, as well.

My mom was a resident of this facility’s memory care unit for almost a year before she passed away recently. I moved her to this memory care from an assisted living facility in Raleigh. I cannot say enough about the team who took care of her— from the assistant in the office, to the director, to the head nurse, to the facility caretaker, to the entire care team, it felt as if they truly loved her. I could not have taken care of my mom without the team at Calyx. It’s always hard to know if you’re choosing the right facility. I looked at many in Raleigh, Carey, Durham, and Chapel Hill. I was fortunate to land here. Thank you.

I recently joined a friend on a tour of Calyx Living on Guess Road and was truly touched by what we experienced. This charming, vibrant community felt more like a welcoming retreat than a care facility. The décor was tasteful, the lighting bright, and the atmosphere full of life. During our visit, residents were enjoying a watercolor class—it was joyful and inspiring. The young woman who gave us the tour couldn’t have been kinder, and her genuine care for the residents shone through. Calyx Living is a true gem in Durham—warm, engaging, and surprisingly affordable. When the time comes for my own parents to need support, I’ll feel grateful knowing places like this exist.
