Our Experience at Cache Valley Assisted Living Center I am writing this review to advise families who are considering Cache Valley Assisted Living Center (CVAL) for their loved one. The property was clean, and the staff were reasonably efficient. However, our experience went far beyond cleanliness and basic efficiency. What became increasingly important to us was whether our loved one was receiving the personal attention, compassion, and consideration that we believe every resident deserves. During my husband's first week at CVAL, he asked if he could have decaffeinated coffee with his breakfast. When I visited him, I made the same request on his behalf. It may seem like a very small thing—and in itself, it is. But after eight months, he still could not get a cup of decaffeinated coffee. To me, this small request became symbolic of a much larger unseen concern: the lack of attention to the individual needs and daily happiness of the people living there. When someone is making their home in an assisted living facility, the little things matter. Being heard, having preferences respected, and feeling that someone cares can make an enormous difference in a person's quality of life. After several months, I began to see my husband emotionally deteriorating. We became increasingly concerned that the environment was not bringing out the best in him. When asked, he never complained, he just didn't seem excited about his life anymore and spent most of his days in his room, as did most of their residents. We investigated over 20 other assisted living communities and ultimately chose Legacy House. The difference is amazing, Legacy has full time nursing staff and a PA on site 3 days a week, CVAL offered a contracted PA only every two weeks. After only three months at Legacy House, my husband is thriving and happier. The staff make a big effort to know the residents as individuals and to create an environment where they feel cared for and valued. At Legacy House, residents are given several menu choices at every meal. The food is varied plus very good and prepared according to each person's preferences. Activities are planned around the interests of the people who live there, (fishing trips, even skydiving -Ogden facility), rather than simply providing activities for the sake of having them. Most importantly, the attitude at all Legacy Houses' is that residents deserve to feel loved, cared for, and treated as they would be in a loving home. This is a stark contrast to our experience at CVAL. I understand that every family and every resident may have a different experience, and I can only speak from what we personally experienced. I believe families deserve to know what happened to us at CVAL before making such an important decision for someone they love. For us, the move from CVAL has made an extraordinary difference in my husband's happiness and his quality of life. I have since encountered several people who left CVAL for our very same reasons. Before just placing your loved one in a place do more than just listen to their hype, look at the residents in the facility, do they look happy and feel cared for or do they just stay in their rooms most often. Compare the services, medical staff, Chief vs. cook, outings, personal transportation to various appointments (included, extra charge etc.) How many times are the beds changed, personal laundry done, their willingness to speak to to the designated family member and so much more. The corporate attitude for Legacy Houses is very different than most assisted living places. I only wish we had made the move sooner. Best wishes for you and your loved one.

We cannot speak highly enough about the amazing staff and facilities of CVAL. They took such wonderful care of my Mother In Law and welcomed her into their caring space. They have a real community that is created by personal investment of the staff and management. From the daily activities to the field trips, the staff cares for all their residents and curates a feeling of belonging. Always exceptionally clean and decorated for each new season that rolls around. They welcome family interaction and quickly communicate any needs that may arise. Never did we experience anything but exceptional service and a true caring for all who reside there.
