I couldn’t be happier with the care, professionalism, and overall environment at Brookdale Winston-Salem. From the very first day my mom moved in, every member of the team has shown incredible compassion and dedication. The transition to memory care is never an easy one, but the staff made it seamless and reassuring for both of us. They took the time to get to know my mom personally — her routines, preferences, and personality — and it’s clear that they treat her as an individual, not just a resident. The quality of care has exceeded every expectation. The nurses and caregivers are attentive and kind, responding quickly to her needs and keeping me informed about her well-being. I’ve noticed real improvements in her mood, her cognitive engagement, and even her appetite — all signs that she feels safe and comfortable in her new home. The management and leadership team also deserve special recognition. They communicate clearly, follow through on what they say, and maintain a calm, organized environment that reflects genuine pride in their work. The dining staff, activities coordinators, and everyone involved in day-to-day life bring such positivity and warmth to the community — it truly feels like family. Overall, I have complete peace of mind knowing that my mom is in such capable and caring hands. Brookdale Winston-Salem has not only met our expectations, but far surpassed them. I’m deeply grateful for the difference they’re making in her life and in ours.

My mom has been at Brookdale for a month now and it has been a very positive experience for her. She is well cared for and encouraged to participate in all of the activities they offer. She has been very happy and more social than ever.

The staff at Brookdale took great care of my husband during his stay. I knew by their actions and expressions that they genuinely cared for him as well as me. When people ask if I would recommend Brookdale, I give a resounding yes. Placing a loved one in a facility is hard. But after seeing some of the pictures of my husband and staff, I knew he was in the right place. He knew everyone there, and they all knew him. He was well taken care of and loved.

My mother has been a resident at Brookdale for several years. The staff is always friendly and welcoming when I go. It is always bright and cheerful. I am pleased with the care she is receiving there. I would highly recommend Brookdale if you are looking for a place for your loved one.

This was not a good fit for my mother because she had a difficult transition. They seemed overwhelmed by her distress and she was sent to the hospital (and removed from the facility) within 5 days. We were told they couldn't handle her. We had to pay so many fees - resulting in almost 2 months payment for less than a week. On the day we moved her out of Brookdale, the staff seemed angry and barely looked at us. No one asked about us or her -- how we were doing, where we had landed. My mother lives in another memory care facility where we were immediately welcomed - and assured that my mother behaved like typical dementia patients. She has had no problems there. I would not recommend this facility if your loved one is not docile. Other than one nurse, who was great, the staff made an already difficult transition so much worse.
