FYI - don’t give Bickford a $500 down payment unless you are 80% sure that you or your parent will reside there. Unfortunately Bickford was the first assisted living facility I visited on behalf of my father. I made the mistake of falling for their “there’s only 1 room left, you better put down a $500 deposit” spiel. I gave them my credit card and the $500 was gone in less than a minute. But when my father chose a different facility and I requested my money back, they wouldn’t simply refund my money on the credit card. It had to be “returned via a check issued by their corporate business office”. It was only after multiple phone calls (only one returned) and emails that I finally got the check more than a month later. In the meantime Bickford had the use of my $500 for their own investment purposes. Extremely irritating.

We recently had to find an assisted living facility for our Mother. We checked out five facilities. Bickford Crown Point quickly became our only choice. The director Beth took a lot of time with us and was very helpful and responsive during the transition process for Mom. Beth’s caring nature is so evident and it carries over to the staff. The Bickford team has done a great job helping Mom adjust to her new life. We are confident that Bickford of Crown Point was the right choice for us.

My sister and I looked into this place about 3 months ago for my parents. Despite the fact the rooms are very small for two people, we still decided to put the $500 deposit down and hoped a bigger room would soon becoming available. After visiting another Assisted Living facility the very next day, we found another place that would fit out parents' needs better. We immediately informed Bickford and requested our $500 be refunded. We were told it would be mailed to us. That was 10 weeks ago. We have yet to receive the $500 check and are also not getting a response from Beth Tengerstrom, executive director, or Joshua Warren, family advocate. Unprofessional business practice for sure.
