Bella Groves cared for my mom for the last two years of her life, and I can honestly say there is no better place she could have been. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her with the utmost dignity, compassion, and respect. Her biggest fear was going into a care home, but Bella Groves made the transition gentle and even comforting. They didn’t just “take care” of her — they met her where she was, emotionally and cognitively, every single day. They helped her feel seen, valued, and safe. The team truly made her feel at home, and that gave our family incredible peace of mind. I’m forever grateful to everyone at Bella Groves for the love and care they gave my mom in her final years. It’s rare to find a place where both the heart and the standard of care are so strong. Thank you for everything.

Kelly, we are truly honored to have known your whole family and your wonderful mom. We still miss her very much, and we are so grateful for the memories that we all created together. Your mom gave so much to us. Her cheerful disposition, her sense of adventure, and her genuine empathy for others always came through in her interactions with people she very much considered to be friends (all of us and fellow residents). Even in the tougher days in the end, her presence and aura was very evidently about love. Even more impactful is the encouragement and support that you and your sisters showed us over these years. Your open hearts and even changed perspectives about dementia are a potent fuel and inspiration for our work as we continue. To know that we can impact a family's story in such a profound way - to live our motto "unconditional joy" - is a blessing in and of itself. Thank you, Kelly, and to Janae and Julie, for all that you've given us, and thank you for inviting us to be a part of your mom's life for this brief but cherished moment.

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Bella Groves last week, and as a dementia care professional that often visits communities caring for people living with dementia, I am still in awe of all of what I saw at Bella Groves. This is HOME. This is a FAMILY. I wish everyone on the dementia journey had a place like Bella Groves to turn to. They are more than assisted living, they are an educational hub. They are a place of support for anyone on the dementia journey. Their local community is lucky to have them.

Carrie, we are still pinching ourselves that we had the opportunity to work alongside THE "Dementia Darling"! What a gift to be able to witness your courageous work on social media, advocating for caregivers of dementia, and then to see and feel your genuine spirit in person. Thank you so much for taking the time and interest to visit our community and share your insights, impromptu trainings, and for the very special moment you facilitated for our residents with your unique musical-based activity. We're proud of YOU and all the work you do, Carrie. Keep shining your bright spirit sharing your love for families affected by dementia. We're in your corner too!

Our family has walked the long road of my mom suffering from Alzheimer's disease. She is young, now 70, and it's been a long and hard 9 years. We knew one day we would have to put her somewhere but even the thought of "abandoning her" made me sick to my stomach. Through God's grace we came across Bella Groves and decided to tour. We met with Laura who was very knowledgeable about dementia and Alzheimer's and spoke about finding "joy through dementia", I didn't know that was possible. As we toured, we saw the kind and gentle interactions each caregiver had with the residents. We decided to make Bella Groves her new home and it's quickly become our home too. Bella Groves has created a beautiful community, not just of residents and caregivers but with all the "loved ones" (families of residents). We know and love the other residents and other families know and love my mom. They allow the residents to "lead" and I don't think I've ever heard any of the caregivers tell a resident "no". If they want to go outside, they take them on a walk outside. If they want ice cream, they get a little scoop of ice cream. It's all about them feeling at "home" and loved. The caregivers are one of my favorite things about Bella Groves. Plain and simple, they know my mom and most importantly they love my mom. Kayla, is the Director of Dementia and I'm quite sure she is an angel in human form. She creates fun activities, games and offer fun activities that get them out of the "home" like- going to get ice cream, getting their nails done etc. She even took her lunch break to sit with my mom (who was sitting by herself) to talk to her. James is the owner and he often will jump in and care for the residents as well. The Lord has his hand on Bella Groves and we are forever grateful for the way they love and care for my mom. We sleep well at night knowing she is there. We didn't know a place like this existed.

Paige, we feel so lucky to know your family and to witness your daily love. The devotion you show clearly comes from a place of joy and honor, and whether you're sitting with all the "ladies" at the table sharing jokes or having a private moment with your mom, we are inspired by all of it. Thank you for sharing such kind perspectives of your experiences at Bella Groves and with our team. There are so many families who are struggling with the emotions and burden of "unknowing" that accompanies the process of researching assisted living communities. Your experiences in the search process are all too common. Your experiences AFTER making a selection are far less common, and we hope that our work and the stories of families like yours all help to change this unfortunate fact. What a blessing your whole family is to our organization and to our mission. Dementia is not the end, and if we can find the blessings in our hardships we can accomplish so much. We're not just grateful you "chose" us but more importantly because you are part of us.

Bella Groves is more than just a memory care facility—it is a place of love, compassion, and true dedication. When our family faced one of the most challenging times in our lives following my dad’s diagnosis with Lewy Body Dementia, Bella Groves became a place of refuge for our family – to both care for him deeply and to allow us time to enjoy him. From the moment my dad arrived, the caregivers embraced him with warmth and kindness. They didn’t just see him as a resident; they saw him as family. Their deep care, patience, and unwavering support made all the difference—not only for my dad but for all of us. They walked alongside us through every step of this difficult journey, offering comfort, understanding, and genuine love. We will forever be grateful for the way they cherished and honored him. It is a very tough decision to move your loved one into memory care. It broke our heart and made us feel like we were giving up. Our family toured several memory care facilities, and only Bella Groves felt like a home with a family. Once we moved my dad into Bella Groves, we quickly realized that it was not only the right decision, but that it was also an excellent decision. They cared for my dad more than we could as we were worn out with physical and emotional exhaustion. Getting reprieve from the heaviness of caregiving, we were now able to completely enjoy Dad. My mom, sister, and I rotated visits so that he had one to three visits every day. We built friendships with the entire staff as well as the other residents and their families. My children developed friendships with the staff that were filled with hugs and laughter. We interacted with the other residents as if they were part of our extended family. During this season, Bella Groves was our second home, and we could not be more grateful. The facility itself is thoughtfully designed to feel like home. From the inviting living spaces with comfortable couches and chairs to the shared meals and engaging activities, every aspect is created to foster a sense of community and belonging. It was reassuring to know my dad was in a place where he felt safe, valued, and surrounded by people who truly cared. Bella Groves is a special place, made extraordinary by the people who work there. They were not just caregivers—they were family members, providing dignity and respect to those in their care. Bella Groves is truly a memory care facility that offers not just excellent care but also an environment filled with love and understanding. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the entire team at Bella Groves for loving our dad as if he were their own and supporting our family through the hardest of times. We will always hold them close in our hearts with gratitude.
Response from the owner
We still reminisce about your entire family, Charlie. Each generation of the Malmberg crew showed us the legacy of your father. Your endless support of our team was felt in every visit, every thoughtful gesture, every joyful celebration, every tough circumstance, and all the private moments we each hold dear. Everyone here has their favorite story or memory. Caregivers in our profession are often credited with compassion and kindness. This is certainly true in the vast majority of cases throughout our profession. For our lucky team members, there is more fueling this than a mystical or never ending supply of altruism. Our fuel is seeing the dedication of the families of those we get to call "residents." We aim to mirror and amplify what we see. Sons honoring their dads. Wives loving their husbands. Granddaughters hugging their granddads. Thank you for giving us the gift of knowing and supporting your family through this moment in time, Charlie. Thank you for this generous review, which we hope helps other families to know they're not alone and that there's hope for JOY again, even in the face of such difficulties.

I think most of us have heard our own parents tell us from an early age that what is most important is "what's on the inside". This phrase reigns true for Bella Groves as I had the opportunity to visit their community and witness sincere love between residents, care team members, and even their very friendly house dog Nera. Warm and inviting are two words that describe their physical presence. It is a beautiful well designed community, but more importantly, is their unique approach within their core philosophy to provide high quality care and purpose for their residents. They meet their residents where "they are" in their progression with memory loss and that is a very big deal when it's your mom, or your dad, or your family loved one. The Bella Groves team, in my opinion approaches care from a "help, care, coach, love" perspective versus a "fix" perspective, and when people take that approach, a happy lifestyle, every day, is still possible for everyone!
Response from the owner
Deanna, we are so appreciative to work alongside dedicated professionals like you who deeply understand what we are working to bring to and normalize in the world of senior care. We are lucky to incorporate the passions and expertise of people from all over the country who add to our collective wisdom. Thanks for making the trip to see us in person! The incontinence program and associated products and services y’all have brought in have already made such an impact and we suspect will only continue to enhance more people’s confidence, restfulness, and dignity. Thank you for visiting Bella Groves and being such a source of encouragement from the very start! We appreciate you.
