Very disappointed with Sheena, the director. She is unprofessional, rude, and passive-aggressive when you call and ask to speak with her. In a nursing home setting, where families are already dealing with sensitive situations involving their loved ones, empathy and professionalism should be a priority. The majority of the staff have been pleasant, but unfortunately, her behavior as the director reflects poorly on the facility.

Do not send your loved one here! My grandma got admitted her over a month ago and since then everything went downhill. I want to start off by addressing a staff member named “Felicia” I was trying to take my grandma out for an outing and she was very unprofessional, rude and dismissive! I get that staff have to follow specific protocol but they way she handled the situation left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It made me upset to know that my grandma is being watched over with staff like her. She even admitted to having an attitude then said “she had a long day” which still doesn’t justify her bad attitude. She needs to be fired immediately! Next I wanna address a nurse named “Sheena” She is the most unprofessional person you have ever met! Everytime you pick up the phone and call she has a terrible attitude! She refuses to answer any questions and is not supportive in any way. I do not understand how someone like her is in charge. She doesn’t care about the residents and she acts as if she hates her job. It’s not easy seeing my grandma in a place like that and the least the staff could do is be compassionate towards the family members! Please do not send your loved one here! You will regret it. I have developed severe depression knowing that my grandma is in a place with staff members like them. They both deserve to be fired! The staff here has not made it easy for me knowing my grandma is in here. My grandma has called every single day saying how much she hates the place and how she wants to go home. Please be advised.

While we are fairly new to the Heritage at Eldridge, I am beyond impressed with everything and everyone. Staff is very skilled and very friendly and always available to answer my many questions. They seem to have a good staff:resident ratio. They are fantastic with the residents, including my person (who can be pretty temperamental at times). I am amazed at how smoothly and kindly they redirect residents when needed. Unlike other facilities I looked at, they keep the residents engaged, and there are almost always people gathered in the common areas for games and other activities. Rooms are clean and nicely sized and the meals are varied and well-prepared. They work closely with a geriatric medical group and with hospice as needed. Overall, I believe we made the right choice for my person & their needs & I'm very happy with everything & everyone I've met.

TL;DR This is the somehow both the highest quality and cheapest memory care facility in West Houston and frankly I wish I could live here with my grandma. 100/10 I've toured more than 10 different memory care facilities and I can save you some time: this is the one. Honestly I hope this is still here when I'm old so that I can move in. It's heavenly. It's absolutely beautiful on the inside. At many places, everyone is in one room all day, or worse, a hallway. But here, they have many different activity rooms like the main living room (so fancy), a cozy TV room, a craft room with evidence of actual crafts and lots of supplies, an interior courtyard where they garden and the residents can come and go as they please, and others. Regardless of their ability level, everyone will be dressed and brought out every day to be with the group and participate in activities as much as they are able. The building is also so thoughtfully designed. They have windows into all of the common room so that the residents can see that that is a room to go into and will be enticed to go into the rooms and do activities. They have decorations placed off-center at the ends of the hallways so that residents can see that the hallway is not a dead end and they know there is somewhere to go. They even have a separate dining room for people who need dining assistance so that they can eat with dignity with peers at their level. Between the 3 courtyards and all of the interior windows, there is an abundance of natural light inside and it has such a bright and cheery atmosphere. The staff are so kind and helpful and everyone engages with and helps the residents, even the office staff. Everyone looks happy and entertained when I visit. No one is ever sitting in a wheelchair off by themselves with nothing to do. THE BEST PART IS THE PRICE. Memory care facilities are NOT priced according to quality; this is the best place I've toured and if your loved one needs a higher level of care, this will be the cheapest guaranteed because THERE IS NO LEVEL OF CARE FEE. You pay for the room and that's it. The price will always stay the same and will not escalate as their condition progresses. For us, that meant this place was about $4k/month cheaper than any other option, and most of the other options were quite depressing, whereas this one was delightful. They provide transportation, they have a fancy private dining room for private events like birthdays, they have a monthly family night, and you can show up any time you want to share a meal with your loved one. If they live here, they will do activities geared towards their ability level every day, they will be surrounded by their peers and be able to make friends, they will be cared for by people who treat them like family, and they will feel rich because this place is so beautifully decorated. You can come pick them up any time for an outing and they will be dressed and ready to go, you can even just meet them at a location because they provide transportation, so you do not have to arrive an hour early to get them ready and then break your back trying to get them into a car that is not wheelchair accessible. I cannot recommend this place enough. Some of the people here chose this place for themselves and either don't have any mental disabilities or are very high functioning, and this is still their first choice and they are very happy if you talk to them. If Heritage doesn't have any openings when you look, it is worth it to hire an at-home caregiver to wait for one because this place is it.

Feels like home. The residents are warm and friendly, and the staff always greet you with a smile when you walk in. They continuously strive to provide the best care and support possible. Choosing a memory care community can be a difficult and stressful process, but they are there to help guide you every step of the way. I highly recommend coming in for a tour — you will not regret it.
