The Aspen

We had a terrible experience. The staff lacks dementia training! A real lack of communication with management. Very high staff turnover. The care givers gossip about other residents in front of family members. Very unprofessional. The outdoor areas are neglected. They are not prepared for emergencies. Any and all complaints get the same response - you can take your family member elsewhere. So we did!

The absolute best care, best staff, and best food. Phenomenal environment and caring owners

As a pet therapist, I was invited to bring my two small, hypo-allergic dogs to visit Aspen. My contact person was Melissa who was/is amazing. After arriving I was also greeted by Steven who was also a star!! He was personable, caring, kind, genuine, compassionate, and authentic. As I observed him interacting with the residents, I could hardly believe what I was seeing! He cared for them as if they were all, his own family. I have been doing pet therapy for years and I have never seen any employee give the level of care and compassion that he gave! He is an outstanding, fine young man who is truly making a difference. The residents themselves told me that they "loved him!" They said that they were so grateful that he was there with them and that they knew that he truly cared about them. I still can’t get over what I witnessed with Steven acting as if he were there family member, that’s how much he cares about each and every resident. ! I greatly applaud Aspen for the fine care they are giving their residents by having folks like Melissa and Steven on board. They need to be commended in a big, big way! Sincerely, Angel R.

Dad has been a resident of The Aspen since August 2019. Best decision we could make! I no longer worry about Dad as I know there is 24/7 care. The staff is amazing - so caring and helpful and patient. The owners, Ron and Carole, love what they do and that is plain to see. All the COVID protocols they enforced worked, not one incident! Yet, they came up with creative ways to still interact with Dad. Dad enjoys the activities, especially exercise class, listening to the piano when performers come in to play, Bible study and painting classes. He enjoys the meals but breakfast is his favorite. Our family is so happy to have found The Aspen, located in Woodland Park, where Dad is safe, happy and content.
