Arcadia Assisted Living LLC

My husband has been residing at Arcadia in Chester for the past five months, and I am filled with gratitude for this decision. My words fall short of expressing how thankful and appreciative I am for the exceptional caregivers who have taken care of him. Their gentle and compassionate nature is evident in every interaction I witness with them daily. I was fortunate enough to experience the simulation training Arcadia requires its caregivers to undergo. This provides caregivers with a valuable glimpse into the daily lives of individuals with dementia. This experience was truly impressive, as I know that many facilities do not prioritize such training. While Arcadia values experience, it places a higher emphasis on kindness, empathy, and compassion. My husband is content, well-showered, and well-fed. The meals are prepared in their kitchen--it always smells amazing! When he becomes agitated or appears uncomfortable, they promptly address his concerns without resorting to yelling or belittling him. He feels valued and loved here, as he truly is. Tamara manages the house with remarkable efficiency, swiftly assessing the needs of the residents and taking immediate action. I am incredibly grateful for all the caregivers at Arcadia, including Lori M, Jamie, Kayla, Grace, Alexis, Jazmine, Gabby, Ally, Malory, Reese, and Alayna (who recently went off to college), Tamaya, Alice, and Jess. (Please forgive me if I have misspelled any names or overlooked anyone; there are so many wonderful individuals here!) I am so thankful that I chose Arcadia and made the decision to move my husband here.

About a month ago, my 82 year old husband moved from a facility in Queen Anne's County to Arcadia of Chester, MD. I was expecting a difficult transition as my husband has Alzheimers Disease--and any change is difficult. The transition has been most pleasant--and I credit everything to the caring, loving caregivers at the Chester Arcadia. They are so kind to my husband and they treat him with love and value. This has made everything go so much smoother than I expected. They truly know and understand dementia and Alzheimers. They know his triggers and how to guide him when he appears to be struggling. They never yell at him--they are all so soft spoken and gentle with him. They are aware of the residents' needs and they are skilled problem solvers. My husband had multiple falls at his last location--and he has not fallen ONCE since he's been here. The caregivers are constantly moving and they have eyes on the residents at all times. They actually sit with residents and engage with them. I have never seen anything like the way this group operates. They truly go above and beyond the call of duty. I am so grateful--especially after the last experience he had.
