I was looking for a nice, safe setting for my mom to spend some quality time. After visiting a few daycare programs, I decided on the program at Ascension Living Valley Residence. The warm, caring staff was very welcoming and the program enriching and engaging. If you are looking for a daycare setting for your Alzheimer's afflicted loved one, look no further, than Ascension Living Valley Residence.

My father has been a resident of AVR for just over a year now. He has thrived there and is physically healthier now than he was a year ago. The staff is very attentive, patient and kind to him. The on-site management deserves 6 out of 5 stars if I could give it! They are always helpful and attuned to how dad is doing and take the time to talk with my brother and I anytime we want to discuss something. They are compassionate to their residents and especially to the resident’s family, and it shows that they truly care about people. Thank you AVR for loving and caring for our dad!

I cannot say enough about the leadership and nursing staff for the amazing job they do taking care of daddy. They all feel like members of our family, and part of our "live team" for keeping daddy safe, happy and secure. A thousand thanks are not enough

Where do I start. My MIL was diagnosed with dementia and has lived at Ascension since 2021. The care she has received has been excellent. The staff has been able to entice my MIL into joining in the activities etc. I do not think that she would be doing as well as she is if the staff and administration weren’t as caring and patient with her.

Daughter to Caregiver to Daughter again! Since January of 2021, Mom has been a widow and in the care of her five children. We all participated in her care for over 2 years. She lived with my husband and I for close to a year and a half. My siblings offered monthly weekend respite and vacation coverage time during this which was a blessing. Caregiving is 24/7 commitment. It can be difficult because you put your life is on hold while you care full time for a loved one. As Mom progressed in her metal decline, she became to resent some of our caring strategies. Our roles were changing. Mom was becoming dependent on us and my role as daughter now shifted to caregiver. That was very difficult for me. I missed my relationship with Mom as her daughter. Ascension Valley has been a Godsend to us as Mom’s children. She is loved and respected, safe and fully engaged in her community. Mom is so very happy with the loving, attentive and creative care she receives each day. Although she is often confused as to where she is, once she is reminded she is “Home at Ascension”. She smiles and says, “Oh that’s good! They are so good to me!” I am grateful Mom is so delighted in the safety and care provided by the wonderful staff! I, too, and grateful to have my relationship as “daughter” again. We always enjoy being together at her “Home!”
